Frequently Asked Questions
New to Anchor Chiro? Here is what to know before your first visit.
Your care starts with two visits, and you will get treatment at both.
Day 1: We talk through your history, your goals, and what has been bothering you. Dr. Kate does a hands-on exam and movement testing, which may include a Kinetisense AI motion capture assessment, and you will get treatment that day to start feeling better.
Day 2: We sit down and go over exactly what we found, what is driving your pain, and our recommended plan. Then we treat again.
Splitting it into two visits gives us time to review your results carefully, so you leave with a clear understanding of what is going on and how we will fix it.
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, like athletic wear or leggings and a t-shirt. We will be looking at how you move, and loose or stretchy clothing makes treatment easier.
Most people find adjustments comfortable and are surprised by how gentle they are. Soft tissue work like ART can feel more intense, but we always work within your comfort level and check in with you along the way.
No. We treat the whole body, including shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles, and feet. We also treat the muscles and soft tissue with techniques like Active Release Technique, shockwave therapy, and muscle scraping.
It depends on what you are dealing with, how long it has been going on, and your goals. After your first visit, we will give you a clear recommendation, and we re-assess along the way so you can see your progress.
Yes. We work with runners, lifters, and athletes of all levels, as well as active adults who just want to stay moving. Dr. Kate is a lifelong athlete herself and focuses on sports and soft tissue injuries.
Keep moving. Movement helps your body recover, so we will often give you a few simple exercises to do at home. Some mild soreness for a day or so is normal, especially after soft tissue work.
